On June 9th, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance (referred to as the "Battery Alliance") released the TOP15 ranking of domestic power batteries for May 2023 and January-May.
The data shows that the installed power battery capacity for vehicles in China was 28.2 GWh in May, a year-on-year increase of 52.1% and a month-on-month increase of 12.3%. Of this, the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 9.0 GWh, accounting for 31.8% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 32.0%; the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 19.2 GWh, accounting for 67.8% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 87.2%.
In the past, clothing, household appliances, and furniture were known as the "old three" of export trade. Nowadays, electric passenger vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and solar cells have become the "new three" of foreign trade. As one of the "new three", data shows that in May, China's power battery companies exported a total of 11.3 GWh of batteries; from January to May, China's power battery companies exported a cumulative total of 45.9 GWh of batteries.
TOP 15 List: In May, the top 15 Chinese power battery companies in terms of installed capacity are: CATL, BYD, ATL Power, EVE Energy, Guoxuan High-Tech, XWDT, LG Chem, Lishen Power, FUNENG Technology, Rui Pulin Junge, Farasis Energy, Donly, Great Power, Rongsheng Meng Solidarity, and SK-On.
